Compare four Octopus tariffs, last 28 days
What London would have paid on each Octopus tariff.
- Prices: Octopus Energy public API, Direct Debit, region C. Standing charges included.
- Use: shaped like Great Britain's demand each half hour (Elexon initial demand outturn), scaled to your yearly total. A real home peaks harder in the evening, so Agile and Go would save a little less.
- Moving use: that share of each day's electricity is taken out of its usual hours and run in that tariff's four cheapest half hours of the day, together or apart.
Is Agile right for you?
It tends to work if
- you have a smart meter, or can get one
- you can run appliances at midday or overnight
- you charge an electric car or a home battery
- a large share of your use can move, such as a car or heat pump
Think twice if
- most of your use falls between 16:00 and 19:00
- you cannot shift when you use power
- you want a bill you can predict

You are paid to use power in that half hour, because renewables are outrunning demand. It is not an error.
Yes, if you can move appliances, an electric car or a home battery into cheap hours. If not, a fixed or capped tariff may suit you better.
Every region shares the wholesale price; regional network charges make the difference.
